A vintage, metal button was used to create the sterling silver fishing fly pendant that is the focal point of this leather cord necklace. I created a PMC clay rendition of the old button to form the pendant which was then kiln-fired, oxidized, tumbled, and hand polished! The sterling silver pendant is strung on a double strand of natural leather cord (green shown) knotted with two faceted blue lapis accent beads. The disc bead used in the button and loop closure was also hand-formed and adds the finishing touch to the piece. This necklace is available in a 16", 18", or 20" length. For all you fly fishing enthusiasts out there, this is the necklace for you!
This leather cord necklace is offered in several different leather colors and in two different lengths. Please specify necklace length and preferred leather color when ordering. Other stones are also available including carnelian, chrysoprase, labradorite, amazonite, onyx, rhodochrosite, turquoise, and rainbow moonstone. By request, this pendant can also be place on a sterling silver snake chain as seen in the last two photos! Convo us for details.
Although this necklace can be recreated, each pendant and button closure will be slightly different and exhibit unique characteristics due to the hand construction and kiln-firing process used to create each piece.
